At Fosse-Sèche, the vine is not a function: it is a presence among others. We move forward with the simple - almost ancient - idea that nature offers much when given space to be itself.
A domain where life breathes freely
Here, the landscape is not decorative: it is fundamental.
On 45 hectares in one piece, we chose to plant only 15 hectares of vines, leaving 30 hectares in their natural state:
meadows, flowering fallow land, trees, hedges and wetlands.
Every action is designed to ensure that the land remains fertile, expressive and hospitable.
Our commitments, in concrete terms:
1/ Creation of a body of water and a wetland area, the true lungs of the estate;
2/ Planting of more than 4,500 trees, which create corridors of life and coolness in a warming world;
3/ Annual sowing of more than 30 melliferous flowers, offering an open table to pollinating insects;
4/ Installation of 100 wildlife shelters (LPO), refuges for birds, bats, hedgehogs, …;
5/ Implementation of a sealed plant-based wastewater treatment plant for the excess groundwater (2024), a filtering garden where 420 plants purify the water with elegance.
During an inventory conducted in 2019, a naturalist observed 60 species of birds and 116 insects — all evidence that the place is breathing and reinventing itself.

An ecosystem that nourishes and connects
Biodiversity is not just an intention: it is a nourishing circle that expands year after year.
Around the vineyard live:
1/ A conservatory of old fruit trees, cultivated with Stephan Perrotte, World Jam Champion and Best Jam Maker in France, to preserve forgotten varieties and inspire unique jams
2/ Jersey cows from the Ferme des Belles Robes, raised by Guillaume Gatard , which graze in agroforestry and maintain the soil, gently, without noise
3/ A living apiary, where our bees forage in this landscape that we have chosen to be generous.
Each element responds to another. Each presence tells a part of the story of the place. Here, wine is never alone: it is the product of a living organism.
Fosse Sèche Honey
The gentleness of the landscape captured in a pot:
In old orchards, under free-growing hedges, between flowering fallow fields, bees gather thousands of shades.
Their honey captures the poetry of the estate: acacia flowers, white clover, fine herbs, honeydew from oaks and maples…
A gentleness that arises from diversity and speaks of the health of the place better than any speech.
Each jar is a lingering season, a landscape that can be tasted.
A climate commitment as long as a vine's lifetime
Since 2016, we have been involved in the national CDC Biodiversity – Nature 2050 program, which originated from COP21. For 35 years, the area will be observed, studied and supported to measure its capacity to adapt to climate change.
Every five years, we monitor soil organic carbon, nitrogen dynamics in foliage, and how soils respond to climate change.
A slow, deep, and patient commitment — like the growth of a tree.
A solidarity that transcends the boundaries of the domain
Protecting nature is also protecting humanity. We have chosen to extend this circle of care beyond our lands.
Thus, €0.10 per bottle sold is donated to the Bioparc Conservation and Kibouj associations. They advocate for the right to and access to education, healthcare, and agricultural development. Because we believe that wine can be a helping hand.
And that our wines grow on the same soil as the dreams they sustain.
