Guillaume Gatard et la Ferme des Belles Robes : l’élevage bovin bio en harmonie avec la nature

Based in Boismé, in the Deux-Sèvres region, Guillaume Gatard embodies a new generation of farmers committed to environmentally friendly agriculture and animal welfare. At the helm of Ferme des Belles Robes, he perpetuates a five-generation family tradition while innovating through organic farming certification obtained in 2022.

His farm, a true haven of biodiversity, spans 300 hectares of meadows, 30 kilometers of hedgerows, 10 kilometers of streams, 15 ponds, and 3 lakes. Guillaume Gatard even replanted a kilometer of hedgerows in 2023, following the principle of "for every tree cut down, two are replanted." The herd is completely self-sufficient in feed: the animals feed exclusively on what the farm produces, guaranteeing high-quality meat, praised by top chefs.

In partnership with JA Gastronomie, La Ferme des Belles Robes has developed a unique, fair, and transparent supply chain, from farmer to restaurateur. Guillaume Gatard proves every day that it is possible to reconcile economic performance, respect for the environment, and animal welfare, making his farm a model of sustainable and responsible agriculture.

At Fosse-Sèche, we are fortunate to welcome around fifteen young steers from Ferme des Belles Robes each year. Settled on a six-hectare agroforestry pasture, these Jersey cows with their gentle eyes and long eyelashes captivate visitors of all ages. Their presence not only creates a joyful atmosphere but also enriches the biodiversity of our ecosystem, illustrating once again the harmony that is possible between livestock farming, nature, and animal welfare.
